UPDATE ON TRANSNET WAGE NEGOTIATIONS AND PORT STRIKES

Kindly note the Transnet situation regarding the industrial strike action remains unchanged.  
 
Please find herewith below, a high level summary of the current situation.

Port activity
  • Waterside operations at all terminals remains severely constrained whilst landside operations are at a standstill.
  • Shipping lines have suspended new export bookings and for existing bookings, carriers have suspended the release of equipment which have not yet been collected.
  • Carriers enacted contingency plans to alleviate the effects of the strike, as far as reasonably possible. Shipping lines are as such not able to deliver published transit times and delivery dates due to these delays.
 
Free time
