<p class="mainheading">Your Discovery Health Medical Scheme Contribution Update for 2022</p>
<p>The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of access to quality healthcare. Coming into the new year, we hope we've made life a little easier for you by offering a <b>0% contribution increase on all our health plans</b>.</p>
<p>In October 2021, we announced that contributions for 2022 would increase by 7.9%, but that the increase would only be effective from 1 May 2022. This was to maintain short-term affordability for all our members.</p>
<p>Since the announcement, the claims and investment experience of the Discovery Health Medical Scheme was better than anticipated. This allows the Scheme to <b>defer the 2022 contribution increase by another five months to 1 October 2022</b>. This means you can enjoy 2022 benefits at 2021 contributions for the first nine months of 2022.</p>
<p>The contribution increase effective 1 October 2022 will remain at the 7.9% level, to make sure that contributions remain on par with future medical inflation while giving you financial relief through a delayed contribution increase.</p>

<p>It is important to note that you do not have to let us know if you want to stay on the same plan from May 2022. </p>
<p>If you would like to change to another plan effective 1 May 2022, you can easily do so <a href="https://www.discovery.co.za/medical-aid/product-benefit-enhancements">here</a>. Click on Change your health plan and choose a plan that suits your needs by <b>30 April 2022</b> or speak to your financial adviser who can submit your plan change on your behalf.</p>
